Pilar Orero, Estel·la Oncins, and Anna Matamala (TransMedia Catalonia), researchers within the AccessCat Network, have participated in the 3rd FG-MV Meeting of the International Telecommunication Union in Geneva, from 3 to 5 October. All three of them have achieved different milestones in terms of accessibility in the virtual world.

Firstly, two documents co-edited by Estel·la Oncins, Anna Matamala, and other authors on the accessible metaverse have been approved:

• Technical Specification “Requirements of accessible products and services in the metaverse: Part I – System design perspective”
• Technical Specification “Requirements of accessible products and services in the metaverse: Part II – User perspective”

Furthermore, Pilar Orero has acted as co-chair for Working Group 8 Sustainability, Accessibility & Inclusion, and a document co-edited by her has been approved: Revised survey on “Guidance on how to build a metaverse for all”..

Finally, Estel·la Oncins, together with two other experts, has suggested a New Work Item to the Task Group Accessibility Inclusion: Draft new technical report on Guidance and Accessibility of Web3 economy layer of the metaverse for women. .
