On 18th October, several panels led by women—including researcher Estel Malgosa from AFIN, a research group in the AccessCat Network—will reflect on the social impact of research.

From 14th to 18th October 2024, the Autonomous University of Barcelona will celebrate Innovation Week, a series of activities showcasing its innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem while bringing the innovative technologies and knowledge generated on campus closer to society.

One of the activities is Women in Science and Entrepreneurship: Building Pathways to Social Impact, supported by the AccessCat Network, which will feature several panels led by women—including researcher Estel Malgosa from AFIN, a research group in the AccessCat Network.

This event will focus on how to measure social impact and explore the possibility of agreeing on indicators. It will serve to present examples of university-based companies where social impact plays a fundamental role, allowing attendees to learn about their priorities, indicators, and challenges.

This event will broaden the topics discussed at the conference Knowledge Transfer in Social Science and the Humanities, organised by the AccessCat Network on 9th May at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Several presentations during that session also addressed topics that will be further explored in Women in Science and Entrepreneurship, such as knowledge transfer in the social sciences and humanities, and how to evaluate its impact.
