Comprehensive advisory and support service in responsible research and innovation (RRI), designed for research teams, companies, or institutions that wish to develop R+D+I projects with a social and ethical impact.

From a practical, critical, and collaborative perspective, and based on the European RRI framework, strategic support is offered to align research and innovation with current social, environmental, and ethical values: citizen participation and co-creation, anticipation and ethical reflection, gender equality and inclusion, scientific education and open access, environmental sustainability, and responsibility.

Depending on the needs, the service may include:

  • Diagnosis of the challenges and opportunities for integrating RRI into a project.
  • Support in defining teams, phases, and roles.
  • Support in drafting proposals for competitive calls and project documents.
  • Summaries and analytical reports with recommendations.
  • Guidance in living labs to integrate RRI in real experimentation, testing, and implementation environments.
  • Co-creation and critical reflection activities.
  • Customised and practical training using in-house resources (practical RRI guide, activities, real-world examples) in various formats (in-person, online, hybrid).
  • Partners in R+D+I projects (within national or European consortia).

The research group STS-b combines academic rigour and social commitment with extensive experience in integrating RRI, resulting from:

  • Participation in leading RRI projects at a national and European level.
  • Collaborations with public institutions, sectoral clusters, and foundations.
  • Leadership in living labs in the fields of health, mobility, sustainability, and citizen science, applying RRI in environments such as hospitals, neighbourhoods, institutions, and social organisations.
  • Fundamental research: the ability to analyse, understand, and formulate proposals based on rigorous work.
  • Capacity to pivot processes in real time, support change, and work with uncertainty.
  • Solid background in social sciences and science and technology studies (STS): expertise in discourses, methodologies, and conceptual frameworks.
  • Academic authority and credibility as a university research group, independent from purely commercial interests.
