The network's project manager, Carme Pratdesaba, took part in a seminar that brought together European stakeholders to discuss the role of intermediaries in the knowledge valorisation ecosystem.

On 3 June, the European Commission brought together a wide range of European stakeholders involved in knowledge transfer and valorisation in Brussels for the seminar “Towards a competence framework for knowledge valorisation intermediaries”. The aim of the event was to discuss good practices, share challenges and highlight opportunities related to the professionals and agents who help researchers disseminate the results of their work to society.

Through a series of panels and interactive sessions, the event explored several key topics:

  • The role and definition of knowledge transfer technicians and intermediaries.
  • Their relationship with the wider ecosystem and activities to strengthen communication among all its stakeholders.
  • The competences and skills these intermediaries should have, and how to develop them.

The seminar provided valuable insight into mapping the current landscape of knowledge valorisation intermediaries, which will contribute to establishing a common competence framework within the European Research Area (ERA) in order to offer greater support to these professionals and organisations. The AccessCat Network was able to contribute its experience, challenges and needs in the field of valorisation in the social sciences and humanities.

The meeting, which was also attended by the BlueNetCat network, provided an excellent opportunity to share the Catalan model of R&D&I networks promoted by the Department of Research and Universities of the Government of Catalonia.
