The CITM-UPC research group took part in this year’s edition of the fair, aimed at students, families and education professionals.

Serious games and virtual reality with a social impact were the main focus of the projects presented by the DiCode research group (CITM-UPC) at Barcelona’s Education Fair 2026. The group took part on the afternoon of 20 March in EspaiCiència, a space promoted by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI), designed to showcase and transfer research carried out in Catalonia.

Beyond the demonstrations at EspaiCiència, DiCode was also present at the CITM-UPC stand. Once again, they used the space to present to the public a range of serious games projects developed by members of the group and affiliated students.

Who is DiCode?

DiCode (Digital Culture & Creative Technologies Research Group) is an interdisciplinary research group operating at the intersection of social sciences, technology, engineering, digital product design and the arts. Within an applied research framework, the group focuses on studying the specificities, design of new formats, content and emerging experiences in digital communication from a critical and theoretical perspective, as well as through artistic creation and empirical research, with the aim of analysing the social impact of these technologies. At the same time, it seeks to advance technological accessibility, particularly in the field of user experience.
