The GRIHO researcher applied her experience and expertise in web accessibility evaluation to train the company.

From 8th to 22nd July, Afra Pascual Almenara, a researcher from the GRIHO research group (UdL), was responsible for training the digital communication team of the company ecityclic. This training programme was requested not only to meet the new legal accessibility requirements, but also to raise awareness within the company about inclusion and accessibility.

Ecityclic highlighted this course as ‘an opportunity to transform our way of thinking and acting in the digital sphere. Web accessibility is not just a matter of legal compliance, but also an ethical responsibility to ensure that everyone, regardless of their abilities, can access and enjoy our content and services.’

The course was divided into three main thematic modules. The first one focused on awareness, helping participants understand the importance of accessibility. The second one was on accessibility evaluation, introducing tools and methodologies for assessing web content accessibility. The third one focused on accessible coding, providing the participants with the coding skills to ensure a more inclusive and barrier-free website.
