The infographic “More Accessible Museums and Heritage” was developed by researchers from DIDPATRI, TraDiLex, and TransMedia Catalonia.

The Museums and Accessibility Forum is a group of professionals and technicians in the museum and heritage sector that meet to share knowledge and resources, and to work on accessibility as a network. With the support of researcher Andrea Granell (DIDPATRI), the AccessCat Network has had several opportunities to attend these meetings: in 2023 to introduce itself, and in 2024 to present the resources and knowledge it can offer the professionals.

This time, Granell attended the monthly meeting held on 1 April 2025 at the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site. Among other topics, she took this opportunity to present the infographic “More Accessible Museums and Heritage”, funded by AccessCat.

This resource was developed by researchers from the research groups DIDPATRI, TraDiLex, and TransMedia Catalonia. The infographic includes several recommendations and tools for applying current accessibility regulations in museum and heritage facilities, as well as a guide containing the research groups within the AccessCat Network which may be contacted as potential advisors. It is available for free consultation in the AccessCat catalogue.

This is not the only activity Granell has been carrying out to promote this tool. Last 6 March, she took part in the IV Technical Conference on Iconic Houses of Catalonia, held at Masia d’en Cabanyes in Vilanova i la Geltrú. During the conference, she described the main challenges and strategies for adapting architectural heritage to accessibility needs, as well as presenting this infographic to attendees.
