The network and its research groups will attend the congress to showcase their technologies and solutions, reaffirming their commitment to creating accessible smart cities.
For the second consecutive year, the AccessCat Network will participate in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2024, which will take place from 5th to 7th November in Barcelona (at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via).
This congress is a meeting point for experts, companies, and institutions working on the development of more sustainable, efficient, and inclusive cities. In its commitment for a more equal society, the AccessCat Network will participate to demonstrate that, alongside its research groups, accessibility to communication and information is a fundamental feature in building smart cities that guarantee equal opportunities for all its citizens.
Smart City Expo 2024 is an opportunity for AccessCat to participate in the creation of a more accessible future, to promote the transfer of research results in accessibility, and to establish links between research, technological sector actors, and public administrations.
The Network will be present throughout the three days of the congress at Pavilion P3, Ground Floor, Stand F 54. The Networki will be joined by several research groups that will showcase their projects and expertise. Below is the complete programme:
Tuesday, 5th November
- 12:00 - 14:00 – NODES (UOC) – Collaborative mapping and cartography (an initiative that values collective and civic intelligence)
Wednesday, 6th November
- 09:00 - 12:00 – TALN (UPF) – iDEM Project (AI for a more accessible democratic participation processes)
- 13:00 - 15:00 – GRIHO (UdL) – Accessibility in web environments (practical demonstrations of common access barriers)
- 14:00 - 17:00 – TransMedia Catalonia (UAB) – the projects ALFIE (ethical, unbiased, and accessible AI), and GreenSCENT (accessible climate communication)
Thursday, 7th November
- 09:00 - 11:00 – TransMedia Catalonia (UAB) – WEL Project (accessibility in video games through interactive activities)
- 10:00 - 12:00 – TraDiLex (UPF) – UNIVAC Project (accessibility in higher education)
