SIGN-HUB is an online platform dedicated to sign language that provides useful resources for both professionals and the general public.
On 15 November, during the 29th Science Week, the LSC Lab (UPF) research group presented SIGN-HUB, a unique and ground-breaking platform dedicated to sign language. This project is comprised of an international team of people from 10 different institutions from Europe and the Mediterranean (including LSC Lab, member of the AccessCat Network).
The SIGN-HUB resource centre provides:
- Grammars: digital grammatical descriptions of 7 sign languages, produced with a new online grammar writing tool that implements the Sing-Gram plan.
- Atlas: an interactive digital atlas with linguistic structures of sign languages from around the world.
- Assessment: online sign language assessment tools for professionals.
- Life stories: the first digital archive containing the life stories of elderly Deaf signers from the participating countries, partially subtitled and partially annotated for linguistic properties, as well as the documentary We were there, we are here, which was created based on those interviews.
