Nodes (UOC), GIAP (ICAC), and STS-b (UAB) have secured funding for their socially impactful projects.

The IMPACTE grants for socially impactful projects are subsidies provided by the Catalan government for universities and research centres. These grants aim to support the development of projects with a social impact aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The provisional resolution for the 2024 call has already been published. Among the funded projects are three led by groups from the network:

  • Maps for Social Inclusion: Building an Accessible and Diverse City (Nodes, UOC). [Read more about the project in our catalogue]
  • Cultural Landscapes for Wellbeing: Heritage as a Tool for Social Prescription in Vulnerable Peripheral Areas (GIAP, ICAC)
  • ROBOPILOT: A Pilot Study on Introducing Robots into Elderly and Senior Care (STS-b, UAB)

According to the guidelines, applicants for the grants must collaborate with Catalan social organisations to ensure impact and the implementation of research outcomes. The network’s groups have sought support from several organisations affiliated with the network, such as CEMFIS, Arquitectura Sense Fronteres, and Eduxarxa. This represents a valuable opportunity to build bridges between research and the social fabric.
