To celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day on 18 March, the AccessCat Network has prepared a presentation for affiliate entities
Accessibility Innovation Network of Catalonia: Media, Education and Culture was presented on 18 May 2023 to the entities who supported its establishment. The presentation was held by the director of the Network, Anna Matamala, and has been a part of Global Accessibility Awareness Day, which was celebrated to raise awareness on digital accessibility.
The meeting gathered around forty participants, representatives from businesses, institutions, and entities related to the Network’s different fields of action. Attendees learnt about the different research groups that currently make up the AccessCat Network, its objectives, and the different actions planned for the 2023-25 period.
Creating a portfolio of the research groups’ services and technologies, making research visible through the MAP platform, and organising activities and demonstrations for the social and business fabric are some of the proposals put forth by the Network in order to become a leader in accessibility to information and communication in Catalonia.
Finally, everyone who would like to become an affiliate was welcomed and the ones who already are were urged to suggest ways of collaborating that respond to their needs and concerns in terms of digital accessibility.
The session was virtual and free, and was also held in a fully accessible way, with live subtitling and Catalan Sign Language interpreting.
