The network and its researchers will be present at the congress to showcase their technologies and solutions and reaffirm their commitment to communicative accessibility in the field of smart cities.
The Smart City Expo World Congress is a key meeting point for experts, companies and institutions working on the development of more sustainable, efficient and inclusive cities. The network believes that the participation of our research groups is essential to demonstrate that accessibility to communication and information is a key element in the construction of smart cities that ensure equal opportunities for all citizens. For this reason, we will be present for the third consecutive year.
This year it will take place from November 4 to 6 in Barcelona (at Fira de Barcelona Gran Via). We will take part by providing a space for seven of our research groups, with the aim of promoting the transfer of research results in accessibility, establishing links between research and actors in the business sector and public administrations, and engaging with stakeholders to bring the researchers’ projects closer to society.
The network will be present throughout the three days of the congress at stand F64 (Hall 3). These are the groups and projects you can discover at the stand:
Tuesday, November 4
- 10:00–12:00 – TransMedia Catalonia (UAB) – Presentation of the InclusiVRity, ALFIE, MOSAIC and SPICE projects, related to virtual reality, artificial intelligence and inclusive communities.
- 12:00–14:00 – CLiC (UB) – Demonstration of the SCRIBAL technology, a transcription tool for accessible education.
- 15:00–17:00 – TransMedia Catalonia (UAB) – Presentation of the WEL and ENACT projects, on easy-to-read content and clear communication in several fields.
Wednesday, November 5
- 10:00–12:00 – TraDiLex (UPF) – Presentation of PlanAccess, a service for the diagnosis and development of communicative accessibility plans, and the ADLAR project, about everyday linguistic doubts of users with diverse profiles.
- 12:00–14:00 – TRACTE (UVic-UCC) – Demonstration of AVTIA, a project on audiovisual translation for inclusion and accessibility.
- 14:00–17:00 – TALN (UPF) – iDEM project, on automatic text simplification for more inclusive democratic participation.
Thursday, November 6
- 9:00–10:00 – TransMedia Catalonia (UAB) – Presentation of the InclusiVRity, ALFIE, MOSAIC and SPICE projects, related to virtual reality, artificial intelligence and inclusive communities.
- 10:00–12:00 – TRACTE (UVic-UCC) – Demonstration of AVTIA, a project on audiovisual translation for inclusion and accessibility.
- 12:00–14:00 – Nodes (UOC) – Platform for critical cartographies for inclusive environments, a collaborative digital tool to map barriers and inequalities.
TransMedia Catalonia will take part in the Research & Academia session. They will present the SPICE project, which aims to develop a participatory and co-creation model to build diverse, inclusive, accessible and sustainable cities.
- The talk will take place on November 6, from 12:20 to 12:55, at the Tech X Cities stage.
In parallel to Smart City, the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit takes place — an agora to create synergies and build alliances between spin-offs, startups, researchers, corporations and investors. The AccessCat Network will once again participate with a space reserved for the eleven knowledge-transfer networks funded by AGAUR.
- The talk will take place on November 5, from 9:00 to 10:30, at the Pitch Corner. On behalf of the AccessCat Network, the MiA (i2Cat) research group will participate to present the spin-off VOLUM Technologies. Their presentation will be from 9:36 to 9:45.
