This online dictionary contains terms related to public administration procedures and documents across the sectors of transportation, finance, education, and health. It includes two types of definitions:

  1. Institutional Definition: This presents content extracted from institutional documents that are intended to be informative and should exhibit a low level of specialisation. However, many definitions originate from sector-specific language, making them difficult to understand for non-expert users.
  2. Simplified Definition in Plain Language: This approach prioritises making the definitions clear and easy to understand.

Its essential features are:

  • Panhispanic: It provides equivalents across four varieties of Spanish (European Spanish, Argentinian, Colombian, and Mexican) from a descriptive rather than prescriptive perspective. It takes into consideration the differences between the administrative systems of each country, addressing its specific terminological characteristics.
  • Collaborative: The tool includes a collaborative interaction space that establishes a bridge for participation and communication between the dictionary users and the data bank. This allows users to share the difficulties they encounter in understanding the public administration terms, procedures, and documents contained in the dictionary.

DiPAP is sourced from the data of the Panhispanic Corpus of Public Administration (CorpusPAP).

CorpusPAP is based on Internet usage as a corpus and uses the tools available from Google search engines to nourish its data banks.
