Both groups offer solutions in the fields of education, digital media, and social action, as well as in healthcare, education, and social causes, respectively.

The AccesCat Network’s board extends a warm welcome to the research groups LMI (UB) and Digital Care (UVic-UCC). Following the official signing of the addendum to the AccessCat agreement, members from both groups can now fully participate in all the activities, meetings, and calls directed at AccessCat members.

Below, we offer a brief summary of how each group is connected to information and communication accessibility.

  1. LMI (Learning, Media & Social Interactions), University of Barcelona, is a research group specialising in education, digital media, and social action. It brings together digital accessibility, education, and communication, providing solutions that guarantee social inclusion in the educational and media landscape. Through their lines of research, such as digital literacy, the assessment of ICT-related learning, and diversity in schools, they develop strategies and accessible technological tools that foster educational equity and social inclusion in Catalonia.
  2. Digital Care, University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia, is a research group that focuses on applied digital transformation in healthcare, education, and social causes. They design innovative digital solutions, such as apps and video games, to improve processes in the fields of education and healthcare, with a particular focus on accessibility and customisation. For example, a project that the group has already developed and scientifically validated is a video game that assesses skills such as reading, mathematics, attention span, and working memory, and then generates personalised learning activities based on the learner’s educational progress.
