The network director, Anna Matamala, participated as a keynote speaker at Bridge Multimedia's annual Advisory Board meeting. Additionally, two further activities were conducted to promote the network.

Researchers Cecilio Garriga and María Betulia Pedraza (Neolcyt) participated in the 10th International Congress of Hispanic Lexicography. Garriga delivered the closing plenary lecture of the congress, and Pedraza spoke in a session on clear and accessible language.

Researchers Anna Matamala, Estel·la Oncins, and Pilar Orero (TransMedia Catalonia) participated in the seventh meeting of the ITU Focus Groups on the Metaverse (FG-MV). The sessions involved dialogue, debate, and the development of high-level standards and documents.

Several UN agencies came together for the first UN Virtual Worlds Day, a date to explore and discuss how the metaverse and virtual environments can help achieve the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). Researchers from the network, Anna Matamala, Estel·la Oncins, and Pilar Orero (TransMedia Catalonia), participated in the event.

Pilar Orero, TransMedia Catalonia's researcher, participates in the 5th ITU Forum on integrating virtual and physical worlds in the metaverse with digital twin as a speaker in the Session 2: Exploring Use Cases and Reference Models for Integrated Virtual-Physical Worlds with Digital Twins.

Researchers from 6 research groups within the AccessCat Network will impart six online training capsules that are fully independent, free, and addressed to the general public. In a practical and entertaining way, they will teach participants how to be more accessible when it comes to communication and information. 

The AccessCat Network, along with researchers from the TransMediaCatalonia and TALN research groups, is part of WSIS 2024, a high-level event co-organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNDP, and UNCTAD.
